Goofy is a cartoon character created in 1932 at Walt Disney Productions. Goofy is a tall, anthropomorphic dog, and typically wears a turtle neck and vest, with pants, shoes, white gloves, and a tall hat originally designed as a rumpled fedora. Goofy is a close friend of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and is one of Disney's most popular characters. On May 25,1932, Goofy made his grand debut in his first cartoon called ‘Mickey’s Revue’, starring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar, and Dippy Dawg(more commonly known as Goofy).
When the character of Goofy made his Disney debut, he was originally known by the name of Dippy Dawg. Over the years he’s had a variety of unusual names, which include George Geef, G.G. Geef, Super Goof, G.G, and Goof.
